Sweat through a 30-minute workout and you can torch 200 or 300.
Take three gulps of a foamy frappuccino and you’re right back where you started! Neverfear! Slashing those suckers can be as effortless as piling them on.
Here are 10 EASY WAYS to cut out calories and NEVER even notice!! Little seemingly inconsequential choices in eating (and life in general) can make or break you!
Let it MAKE YOU!
1. SKIP THE WHIP!
Going to get your favorite frap? Well, keep in mind that the frap is already sugary in and of itself..but pack on the whipped cream and youve just made added 200+ more cals!
If you want to cut 250..downsize to the tall and skip that whip!
2. Hold the Butter!
I use butter at home..its not the devil haha. However, when you are out eating in a restaurant they will NOT care about your dieting or portions!
Butter, butter, butter..on EVERYTHING! Ask the server to make your meal without butter or sauce and they are usually accomodating! This gives the control back to you! From there, it’s your choice. 😉
3. Opt out of Creamy Soups!
Clam chowder is your favorite? That’s okay..on a cheat day 🙂
If you want a warm soup so for a clear soup like Pho or Chicken Noodle with a side salad!
4. Slim Down Your Sammie!
Reduce the amount of meat in your sandwich! Calories are calories! In order to lose weight you have to burn more than you take in! Protein/meat included! Forget the cheese and spread some hummus or spicy stone ground mustard. Cheese was hard for me…but once you get used to it..you never look back!
5. Use Spices, Nutmeg, Cinnamon, etc. INSTEAD of sauces.
I pretty much put cinnamon on everything. As you can surely tell by my last blog post haha
Spices and cinnamon add extra flavor and reduce calorie intake exponentially! You can make your own dressings..get CREATIVE! I put spicy brown mustard, balsamic vinegar, and pomegranate red wine vinegar in a bowl and swirl it together..
sounds weird, tastes amazing..even better?
NO GUILT!
6.Don’t buy into the CLEAN PLATE idea anymore!
You can save yourself much more than 250 cals PER MEAL by controlling your portions and/or saving whats left on your plate! You can also force yourself when out
at a restaurant by sharing a meal with someone or only ordering a non-fried appetizer for your main. The portions of an appetizer are closer usually to a REAL portion!
**Hint: if you put down your fork in between bites you are much more likely to be aware of when you are full long before you usually think you are. There is a delay!
Eating slowly gives your stomach and brain more time to relay “full” messages. That’s why you get to the end of your plate and feel like you’re gonna explode haha. You were probably full 1/3 of the plate ago!
7. SWAP out ingredients!
Get rid of the idea that you HAVE to have whole wheat pasta in your spag bowl! Try the same amount of spagetti squash! Top with same marinara and use shrimp as protein instead of chicken to cut an extra 50 cals! Also, you can swap greek yogurt for mayo, cream and many more ingredients! Greek yo has protein without the massive amounts of fat!

8. Skinny up your Stir-Fry!
Saute’ your vegetables in veg broth. And opt for tofu instead of Beef! Tofu gets a bad name. I have managed to get my husband to give it a try and he says.. “well, it’s definitely do-able!” That’s a WIN in my book! haha Coming from someone who eats Lil Ceasars Pizza and Corn Beef Hash on a regular basis lol…You just have to experiment with what works!
**HINT: I mis-used tofu initially and thought the consistency way a bit soft..come to find out..you use SOFT tofu in smoothies and Extra Firm tofu in things
like stir-fry! Just a little FYI..oh and make sure you DRAIN and PRESS IT!
9. SKIP the Bread Basket @ your fave Italian Eatery!
One portion dipped in olive oil..(if your anything like me, you DO NOT eat only 1 portion) equals out to almost 300 cals! I Repeat..ONE PORTION!
10. DRUMROLLLLLL…and my #1 way to cut cals…FOOD JOURNAL!!
Awareness and accountability of your intake is essential for your SUCCESS! If you don’t want to write it down..Don’t put it in your mouth!
Simple!
